Title: Director of Communications – OPEN

Location: Remote
Status: Part-time, up to 10 hours per week, 6-month minimum commitment, college credit option

Job Description
Philadelphia Stories is looking for a part-time communications manager to provide oversight of social media managers, newsletter editors, and web designers. The communications manager will also provide direct support to the Executive Director, lead communications planning and messaging, and advise staff on best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Lead communications team
  • Write and edit marketing copy, pitches, weekly newsletters, media kits, and press releases
  • Oversee social media strategy and implementation
  • Update WordPress site
  • Gather and manage photo and video for promotion and events
  • Capture photo and video during events
  • Provide administrative support
  • Research media outlets and reporters; build contact lists; pitch stories

Qualifications

  • Studying or degree in public relations, communications, marketing, English, or multimedia
  • Superior writing and editing skills—detail oriented
  • Excellent organization and time management skills
  • Must have a computer and internet access
  • Some web and graphic design experience a plus
  • Experience with Google, Constant Contact, WordPress a plus
  • Photography and video skills a plus
  • Positive, friendly, upbeat attitude

Job Description
Philadelphia Stories is looking for a part-time social media manager to develop strategy for Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter, create a daily schedule, and grow our audience.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and create social media assets, including: developing appropriate messaging, graphics, videos, and memes
  • Research relevant content to share across channels
  • Plan, schedule, and organize posts on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram
  • Provide administrative support, as needed
  • Study social media trends and implement in a strategic plan

Qualifications

  • Studying or degree in public relations, communications, marketing, English, or multimedia
  • Graphic design skills a plus
  • Social media management
  • Superior writing and editing skills—detail oriented
  • Excellent organization and time management skills
  • Positive, friendly, upbeat attitude

Responsibilities

  • Maintain website for relevance and accuracy
  • Upload new content, including: announcements, blog posts, etc.
  • Ensure links, ads, and images are up-to-date
  • Research, write, and edit content
  • Plan, schedule, and organize blog posts
  • Provide administrative support, as needed
